Shooting Targets

About our Targets

The targets produced by CMP are made from AR500 steel for long life and minimum damage due to bullet strikes.  The stands, bases and mounting brackets are made from normal steel and can be damaged by repeated bullet strikes, and will not withstand rifle bullet strikes.  The design of the targets protects much of the base with the AR500 target face, but occasional hits will occur.  The hardware used to mount the targets is Grade 8 and will withstand repeated bullet strikes.  Replacement hardware is available for sale.

• Pistol shooting at our targets should be performed at a minimum range of 15 yards.

• Rifle shooting at our targets should be performed at a minimum range of 100 yards.

• Bullet velocity less than 3000 ft/sec at impact

• Always place the target in front of a backstop to capture any bullets which miss the target. 

Warranty

All CMP products are warranted for one year from date of purchase for defects in material or workmanship.  We will repair or replace, at our option, any component found to be defective.  Shipping of product back to the manufacturer is the responsibility of the customer.  Contact CMP for return shipping instructions.

Safety

 Firearms Safety

ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
This is the primary rule of gun safety. A safe direction means that the gun is pointed so that even if it were to go off it would not cause injury or damage. The key to this rule is to control where the muzzle or front end of the barrel is pointed at all times. Common sense dictates the safest direction, depending on different circumstances.

ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
When holding a gun, rest your finger on the trigger guard or along the side of the gun. Until you are actually ready to fire, do not touch the trigger.

ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
Whenever you pick up a gun, immediately engage the safety device if possible, and, if the gun has a magazine, remove it before opening the action and looking into the chamber(s), which should be clear of ammunition. If you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber(s), leave the gun alone and get help from someone who does.

Always wear approved safety glasses & ear protection when shooting or observing shooting at any target.

Never fire a gun under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

All shooters must be trained & qualified in the proper and safe use of firearms.

Minors shooting at targets must do so under proper and qualified adult supervision.

Always inspect the targets before and after use for proper and safe operation. Do not use any targets if any damage or improper operation is found.
